It was a successful conference with a good blend of scientific, social and cultural content. I enjoyed and benefited from the in dept overviews of the invited speakers, and took a good glimpse at the research of participants at the well paced oral presentations and plentiful posters. The size of the conference was adequate to allow good interactions between participants. The administration and choice of venue was excellent. It has become a key probiotic conference and I look forward to the 4th International Probiotic Conference.

The Young Scientist Award - sponsored by the renown Danish probiotic producer Danisco - was presented to Dinesh Thapa, University of Hohenheim for his work on the antimutagenic property of exopolysaccharide producing lactic acid bacteria
