Poster Presentation

Posters are reports summarising information using brief written statements and graphic materials, such as graphs, charts, figures and photographs mounted on a poster board.
Your poster is required to fit 90 cm (W) x 120 cm (L) in a portrait orientation. Your poster can be made from paper or cardboard and best laminated. You will need to provide a medium to hang your poster on the board. Double coated tapes will be provided. Please do not write or paint on the poster boards.
Posters will be on display throughout the Conference. If this will not be possible because of space or safety constraints authors will be informed as soon as possible.
Presenters are requested to check the program for the board number assigned, and to set up their posters as soon as possible on the first day of the Conference and to be present at the poster during the indicated hours of Poster Sessions. Further directions to the poster boards will be provided at the registration desk.

Preparing your Poster Presentation before the Conference

  • An ideal poster should cover the key points of the research work, and is able to:

    1. Attract attention,
    2. Provide a brief overview of your work, and
    3. Initiate discussion and question during a short time frame.
  • The title of your poster should appear at the top followed by the author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s). There are no specifications for text/font size. However, text should be of sufficient size for easy reading at a distance of 1.5 meters (between 16-20 point).
  • Make your poster presentation easy to read and as self-explanatory as possible with some visual display. Remember the audience may have a short time frame to pay attention to your presentation. Use color for highlighting and to make your poster more attractive. Wherever is possible use pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc., rather than only text. This will save your time to use for discussions and questions.
  • Prepare a short presentation (five minutes) that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster. Do bring a good supply of your abstract copies to give to interested parties.
  • Plan to spend the entire period of your assigned presentation time at your poster location. If there is more than one author attending the conference, all should attend the poster presentation to aid in the presentation and discussion and to provide the main presenter with a chance to rest and to answer questions.
  • There will be no audio-visual equipment for poster presentations, as space does not permit it. Aisles between posters must be kept clear of any chair or other items that may obstruct the flow of traffic of people through the poster area.
  • Make sure to bring all necessary materials you may need to repair the poster after traveling, such as transparent adhesive tape and an extra set of your poster papers..
